    Thomas Michael Murray, 52 11/01/2001

    Thomas Michael "Tom" Murray, 52, a senior U.S. Customs inspector, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at LaPlace, La.

    A native of International Falls and a resident of Gramercy, La., he was a 1972 graduate of the University of Minnesota and attended two years at the United States Air Force Academy.

    He was a coach of Gramercy swim team and Lutcher High School swim team, a Eucharistic minister to shut-ins, and an Annulment Advocate for the Diocese of Baton Rouge.

    Survivors include his beloved wife, Joan Zeringue Murray; children, Tara M. Holley of Lutcher, La., Jessica J. Slie of New Orleans, Nicholas P. Slie of Dublin, Ireland, Dustin M. Murray of New Orleans, and Tyler T. Murray of Gramercy; his parents, Jack and Donna (Mohs) Murray of the Falls; sisters, Patty Christensen of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Cathy Murray of Minneapolis; brothers, Jim Murray of Los Angeles, Calif., John Murray of Denver, Colo., Terry Murray of the Falls, Ron Murray of Staples, Minn., and David Murray of Baudette, Minn.; son-in-law, Jeff Holley of Lutcher; grandchildren, Caleb J. St.Pierre, Rachel N. Holley and Logan Thomas Holley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy. Friends may call at the church from noon to service time Friday.

    Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Mausoleum.

    Arrangements are by H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Lutcher.
